01Agreement to these terms
By downloading, accessing or using Hansel & Gretel, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please don't use the app. Hansel & Gretel is operated under the brand at hanselandgretel.net.
02Who can use Hansel & Gretel
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, to use Hansel & Gretel. By using the app you confirm you meet this requirement and that the information you provide about yourself is accurate.
03Your account
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. You agree to let us know promptly if you suspect any unauthorised use. You may close your account at any time from within the app.
Hansel & Gretel's tracking and way-back navigation are aids, not guarantees. GPS can be inaccurate, batteries die, and conditions change. Always carry appropriate equipment, check the weather, tell someone your plans, and use your own judgement. Do not rely on the app as your sole means of navigation, especially in remote or hazardous terrain. You are responsible for your own safety.
04Acceptable use
When using Hansel & Gretel, you agree not to:
- break the law, trespass, or encourage others to enter unsafe or restricted areas;
- post content that is harmful, harassing, hateful, deceptive or infringing;
- share another person's precise location or private information without consent;
- misuse, scrape, reverse-engineer, overload or interfere with the app or its infrastructure;
- impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organisation.
05Your content
You keep ownership of the routes, photos, captions and comments you create ("your content"). By publishing content on Hansel & Gretel, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and distribute it for the purpose of operating and promoting the service. This licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies others may have already saved or shared, and reasonable backups.
06Content from others
Routes and posts you see from other users are their responsibility, not ours. A published route reflects one person's experience and may not be safe, legal or suitable for you. Assess any route independently before following it.
07Intellectual property
The Hansel & Gretel app, brand, logo and design are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These terms don't give you any right to use our branding except as needed to use the app normally. Map data is provided by third parties and remains subject to their respective licences.
08Third-party services
Hansel & Gretel relies on third-party services such as map providers, app stores and cloud infrastructure. Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
09Disclaimers
Hansel & Gretel is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of location, distance or navigation data. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or available everywhere.
10Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hansel & Gretel and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of — or inability to use — the app, including injury, getting lost, or loss of data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11Termination
You can stop using Hansel & Gretel and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or use the app in a way that risks harm to others or to the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — such as content licences already granted, disclaimers and liability limits — will continue to apply.
12Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Hansel & Gretel grows. When changes are material, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Hansel & Gretel after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable at our principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where you have mandatory consumer protections under your local law, those continue to apply to you.
